Short Biography

In 2011, Andreas Lawitzky joined the Institute of Automatic Control Engineering at Technische Universität München, Munich, Germany as a research assistant.

He obtained the degree diploma engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) in Information Technology from the Technische Universität München, Munich, Germany in 2011.

Andreas' diploma thesis with the Institute for Cognitive Systems (ICS), Technische Universität München, Munich, Germany was carried out at the Autonomous Robotics Laboratory of the CSIRO ICT Centre at the Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies (QCAT), Brisbane, Australia in the field of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) for autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles.

Prior to that he received the bachelor of science degree (B.Sc.) in Information Technology in 2009 from the Technische Universität München, Munich, Germany. At the Institute of Automatic Control Engineering (LSR), Technische Universität München, Munich, Germany Andreas wrote his bachelor's thesis about collision avoidance for mobile robots.

Working Fields

Andreas is currently working in the field of highly automated driving in the CoTeSys satellite project KogFas: Kognitives Fahrerassistenzsystem in cooperation with BMW.
